A red-fluorescent nucleic acid stain for replacing ethidium bromide (EB).
- Lower mutagenicity than EB and poor membrane permeability; low volatility reduces inhalation exposure. Light- and heat-stable for room-temperature storage without special light protection. Sensitive staining of diverse fragment sizes with limited effects on nucleic acid migration.
